A Bob for Robin

Robin Corak, ALA ’04, with AL founder Bob Wroblewski, Board President Caroline Vander Ark, ALA ’13 & Executive Director Lawrence Garrett, ALA ’10.

The Bob Wroblewski Servant Leadership Award is an annual recognition of an Advancing Leadership alumnus or board director who exemplifies the pillars of servant leadership that are at the heart of our programs and uses this approach to achieve positive change in our community.

This year, the nominees were: Angelica Afande, ALA ’16, Ted Colby, ALA ’16, Kevin Crossen, ALA ’02, Cindy Ducich, ALA ’10, Cheryl Hurst, ALA ’17, Tracy Oster, ALA ’08 and our winning leader: Robin Corak, ALA ’04!

Nominated by past Bob Award winner Janice Siebenaler, ALA ‘10, Robin’s consistent commitment to servant leadership and responding to the needs of the Federal Way community are what inspired her nomination and selection as this year’s award recipient. She has worked for the Multi Service Center for many years and is currently the CEO of this nonprofit organization dedicated to serving low income community members in King County.

Robin exemplifies the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership, especially modeling the way and empowering others to act. In addition to her professional role, she volunteers as a speaker, advisor and board director for many organizations, including Advancing Leadership, where she is our board’s 2016-17 Past President.

As Janice explained in the nomination form, “Robin is the person behind the scenes that gets the job done to enrich our community!”

Congratulations and many thanks to Robin Corak, from the AL Nation and our community!
